Happy Birthday Addy and Finn!

I can't tell you how many times I went back and forth on whether or not to combine Addy and Finn's birthday parties. I felt a little bit guilty because my older two kids had big first birthday celebrations and thought I'd be raining on Finn's parade or that he'd grow up resenting the fact that he didn't get his own first birthday party. Dramatic, I know. :) In the end, I decided he didn't really care and knew I'd make him his own cake and everything.  Their birthdays are only 2 weeks apart, so it really only made since that I do it while I can get away with it. I went with a Mickey and Minnie theme and it turned out super cute. My sister came and helped me all day do both of their cakes and then Finn's smash cake. The cakes exceeded my expectations. I pinned them on pinterest after they were done and I have had over 300 repins which is a lot for my non-online-or-anywhere-famous self. ;)

The party was great. Addy had been excited for weeks. We invited family and just a couple of little friends from church. We harvested a lot of pumpkins from our garden this year so we let each child choose a pumpkin and then they painted them. We also did 'pin the bow on minnie.' We had a couple of different soups to serve and the kids loved it.  Addy couldn't wait for cake time! She was thrilled when Aunt Pam let her help serving her own cake!

Finn wasn't too sure about the cake thing at first. And then he totally got into it and loved every minute! I wasn't too sure about doing black frosting for a smash cake, but I had to match the theme, right? :)  He washed up nicely. Eventually we just took him outisde because it was such a gorgeous day and he could make a bigger mess. All the kids loved eating their cake in our play house.

We also had a fun little photo booth that everyone had fun with. It was great for the kids.  I love the photos we ended up with. The kids, of course, were spoiled and got such lovely gifts, although Finn wanted nothing to do with opening gifts-- all he cared about were the balloons. He appreciates them daily now though.

Addy is Three!

On October 21, our sweet Adelyn turned three! I can't even believe it.  The twos were a little bit rough for us, so I wasn't as sad that she was turning three. Now, the twos weren't AWFUL. I've heard many horror stories about two year olds and she doesn't come close to some of the stories I've heard. She's just, busy. And spirited. And creative. And loving. And sweet.  And we just love her to pieces.

Here are some of her favorite things at three years old:
-Rapunzel
-Coloring- she takes her time coloring and is very specific about how she likes things.
-pink and purple
-mac and cheese
-playing outside
-reading books
-music, specifically the Fox song. She knows every word.
-her mama- she's a mama's girl for sure. She loves to snuggle with me, which I love right back!
-her brothers
-nursery at church
and so so much more.

For her birthday, we opened presents early that morning. She got a Rapunzel dress and crown and a Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder soft doll set. She was in love with everything! For dinner she chose to go to IHOP. GG, Grandpa Great, and Aunt Bethie joined us. The kids thoroughly enjoyed their Halloween funny face pancakes! And Addy loved being sung to! Overall, I think our little princess had a pretty fabulous birthday. We sure love her!

Liam's Third Primary Program

Soo... Let's just pretend it hasn't been three months since I've blogged. We'll just pick up where we left off and hopefully I'll get caught up within the next 6 months or so.

Liam had his third primary program in October. Nana has been at every single one, which is so special. Aunt Bethie had just moved here, so she was able to attend as well! Double bonus. I always like to take some photos of the kiddos on the primary program day and they turned out so cute this year. Liam did beautifully in his program- he knew most of the words to all the songs and he did great at his part.
