Happy Birthday, Adelyn!

On October 21, our sweet little angel turned ONE! Happy Birthday, Adelyn. Here is our final month shot.

At one year, Addy:
-weighs 17lbs 4oz(5th percentile), is 27.5 inches long (30th percentile) and her head is in the 80th percentile, but I can't remember the exact measurement.
-She has taken one or two steps, but she much prefers to crawl. I think she feels safer and is just content to do what she is good at. I know she *could* walk but she doesn't want to. She'll do it when she's ready. :D
-She loves bread, baby Mum Mums, meat, and her baby food. She's not a huge fan of her alimentum formula and I don't blame her. It smells terrible.
-She loves to laugh and 'talk' and play chase.
-She can say 'please' (in sign), "ONE!" (by holding her finger up), clap, and blow kisses.
-She just finished cutting her ninth and tenth teeth. Whew! 10 teeth at one year. Nuts!

And on her birthday I let her do her very favorite thing: play with the shoes. She was in HEAVEN.

Primary Program

Liam had his second Primary Program last week. He was *so* excited and had been constantly practicing his part. His part was "I can listen to President Monson during General Conference. I can read his words in the Friend Magazine." The day before (is this becoming a trend?) Liam got pretty sick with a horrible cough and cold, but he wanted so badly to be a part of his program. Luckily he felt a bit better on Sunday and was able to attend. He was also very excited to have Nana come and watch him! He was soo happy she was able to be there. As per tradition, we took some photos before the program. My kids are just the cutest aren't they?

Yellow Belt

As previously stated, Liam has been doing Karate for about 6 months now. We knew he'd be testing for a new belt in October-- the yellow belt! He was *very* excited, but he knew he had to work really hard in order to pass the test. The kata that he had to learn was very difficult for him and didn't come easily. He practiced with videos, etc, but it wasn't clicking. 2 days before his test, we filmed the teacher and he and Wes practiced for HOURS until he got it. I'm sooo proud of his hard work! He wanted it so badly and he put in the hard work to do it. Here are the videos of him testing (first) and then receiving his new belt (second). Afterward, we went to Dairy Queen for a treat. Liam wanted a banana split.

Liam's First Talk

A couple of weeks ago, Liam gave his first talk in Primary. He chose a story from the Friend that he really liked and talked about its importance. He told me exactly what he wanted to say. He did an awesome job and learned about the importance of gaining a testimony. He also did a great job giving the talk. Awesome job, Liam. We're so proud of you!

Blow Kisses!

Man we love this lil sweetie pie! She now blows kisses to the cashier at the grocery store, people behind us at church- you name it! What a love!

So sad :( Addy getting her allergy test. She is allergic to milk and eggs, but will likely outgrow them.  She is also allergic to peanuts and cashews, which are quite severe at this point. :(  Booooo

My mom had surgery at the beginning of August and Addy and I went and visited her and Papa at the hospital.

My children Looooooove the bathtub. :D

Sometime mid-August Liam drew this little guy and named him. I thought it was a GREAT drawing and a very original name.

This is Liam during his kindergarten evaluation. The night before his eval he got the stomach flu. He cried and cried because he really wanted to meet his teacher. He had gone 2 hours without throwing up, so we went.  He threw up about 30 minutes after it was over. Poor baby. He did awesome, though and his teacher, Mrs. Butler, is great.



This is a photo I snapped in the middle of nowhere Nevada waiting for Antelope to come and water so I could hopefully get one. Unfortunately, I wasn't patient enough and the antelope were too fast for me.  I did wait under this tree for about 2 hours.

We finally got a pumpkin in our garden!! It's orange now and harvested- sitting on our front porch.

Think the tights are big enough? Wes thought she should just go like this to church. lol.

Since Liam has started school, he's been very into writing and rules and cutting and pasting, etc, etc, etc.  I've had to put a limit on the amount of paper he uses. lol.  These were rules he made for our bathroom one day.  For some reason he spelled 'sink' 'sech'.  But, can you tell they had a problem with kids pooping in the sink at school? ewwww.  Regardless these made me laugh. :D

What's on my phone?

It's been far too long since I've done one of these, which means I have a LOT to post. :D

These start with Liam's birthday.  Here he is playing with his awesome Angry Birds game.

A friend of ours sent us a "Flat Ellie" (similar to the Flat Stanley books) and we took a picture on one of our evening walks with her.

I've been collecting old pictures for a photo collage wall that I wanted to do.  I finally got it done and am soooo happy with the results. We have lots of old family pictures. It's so fun and everyone loves seeing it.

In July Addy figured out how to climb stairs. :D

I made some delicious roasted beet raviolis for dinner one night from scratch. They were a lot of work, but definitely were delicious.


I've been addicted to pinterest and have had a lot of fun making crafts from ideas on there. I loved this initial wreath and did my own spin on it for our house. I'm very happy with it.

Adelyn on her first airplane ride because she screamed the entire drive to Washington.  We decided we couldn't handle another 12 hours of non-stop screaming, so we found some cheap tickets and Addy and I flew home. She loved flying. ;)  Little Stinker.

Goofy Girl

The other night Addy was being a total ham bone and goof ball. I snapped some photos just because she was making us laugh so hard with her silly little antics. :) We sure love this girl.
