On our way to our friends' house to Trick-or-Treat,Liam was so excited that he wouldn't let go of his bag and he kept talking to it saying, "Hello Kitty. MEOW. We go trick-or-treating now."

He raided their candy bowl(fruit snacks! woo-hoo!) and kept stealing more while were there. He was so excited that after every house we went to after this he would say, "Let's go to another house, mom!"
Of course we had to go to G.G.'s as well!

Liam would not stop asking until we went trick-or-treating at Alli and Ethan's. We had stopped earlier and they weren't home, so we said we'd try one more time before we called it a night. We got there just as their big group of trick-or-treaters was leaving. Liam was THRILLED to go with Alli and Ethan and their cousins who were in town for Ashlyn's blessing. Here he is with the loot he so lovingly got for his mommy and daddy. He got to eat the fruit snacks. We're bad, I know.

Then last night, my nursing school buddies and I raided the candy bowl for a marathon study session.
We're all a *tad* frustrated with patho right now.

Nursing School Update

I'm well over half way done with my first semester of nursing school! yay! The time is flying. I am feeling a bit more pressure here lately with exams and the medication quiz that I have to pass with a 100% before I can give meds, but I'm still loving it. We're in the middle of our second round of exams and so far I've only gotten one B(that I'm still miffed about...grr...), so I'm feeling good about things, but it's still overwhleming to think that in just one year I'll be able to function as a full on RN.

I love clinical. It's a lot of fun and it's great to actually get to perform all the stuff we're learning to do. I know I don't want to be an ortho nurse, for sure, but I still am liking the experience. I have an awesome clinical instructor who is getting us a lot of opportunities to do different things. I get to go to the neuro unit next week and then we also get to watch surgeries when the opportunity is there, which is really great. We got a tour of the new OR floor at Renown. All I can say is WOW. It's amazing. It's gorgeous, HUGE, and very modern. I loved learning about it all. I wouldn't mind being an OR nurse, but I'm thinking it might not be the route for me because you don't get a whole lot of patient interaction and I'm still focusing on Labor and Delivery and eventually grad school for midwifery. My clinical instructor keeps telling me I need to go to grad school. Uhh, I would really just like to survive my undergrad here and get my husband graduated first! haha Then maybe I'll go that route.

Anywho, that's my update. Here's a pic of our clinical group before going into the OR We're stylin' aren't we?

Trunk or Treat

We had a great time at our ward trunk-or-treat night. Liam was beyond excited for DAYS asking when we were going to go to the "Hawwoween PaRTY!" Here are some photos of my obviously excited super reader in his costume made by Oma. I can't believe we forgot the goggles in these pics!

I think he makes a pretty good Super Why, don't you?Here are some photos from the party. He loved chasing after Alli in her cute poodle skirt.

They kept holding hands and he'd fall down on purpose to get her to pull him up and they would both laugh hyserically.
They also had the cutest cake walk for the kids. We walked in in the middle of one and the music stopped and there were not enough kids on numbers, so we through Liam in and he won. Yes, he is LICKING his cupcake. He was a wee bit excited that he won and I was trying to take a photo of him with his really adorable cupcakes and then he bends down and licks it. Silly kid.Then right after Liam won, Ethan won. We were lucky. And then actually Allison won but they said her six was a nine, but we still think she won. ;)Ok, how cute is this? Seriously? Look at her little shoes even. Erica, I need your sewing skills. Your can't even see how cute this costume is here.Here are photos from the pumpkin carving contest. Yes, Wes actually brought our Obama pumpkin to the church contest. ;) A lot of people had really great pumpkins, though. Jake won with his, but we got second, so that's ok. :)Don't you love the mummy pumpkin? And then we brought Liam's painted pumpkin and Alli goes, "Liam you painted your pumpkin like it's melting! Wow!" Yep, he really did mean for it to come out that way.
They had a lot of other cute little fun games. When Liam couldn't get the bean bags into the holes at the toss, he just problem solved and moved right on up. Golfing was fun with Bro. Bolingbroke. He actually got his face painted. :)The best was trunk-or-treat though. He LOVED it and got the hang of it very quickly. He would have stopped with just one car because he couldn't actually believe that someone gave him candy!! He would yell, "TRUNK OR TREAT" and then when they put the candy in his bucket, he'd look all astonished and exclaim "THANK YOU!!!!"

He loved the glow sticks he won with the games. He looks like he's directing airport traffic here.
The kids had a lot of fun just running crazy and playing together. It's so wonderful to have good friends. Pretty soon all the kids were running crazy together. We at least knew they'd sleep good--or so I thought.Enjoying his winning cupcakes after the big party. He is still asking to go back to the Halloween Party.

Unfortunately that night he woke up with a fever of 103* and didn't sleep all night. :( Luckily he's feeling better now. It must have just been a little bug. At any rate, I don't think it inflicted on his fun at the party. :)

The Best Pumpkins Ever

Last night we made some pretty awesome pumpkins! Liam loved, loved, loved painting his pumpkin. About every minute, he'd look up and say, "I'm painting my pumpkins, Mom/Dad/Jamie." Wes's best friend Jamie is down here visiting from Washington so he got to carve, too. First, here is Liam in 'pumpkin paiting action.' You can tell he was really excited.He loved mixing the paint colors.The it was our turn to carve after Liam went to bed. This pumpkin is massive. There were lots and lots of guts.

Jamie said we had to do the hardwork before he'd help. ;)But he did. He did my carving for me.

And here are the finished products.
We didn't have a lot of faith in Wes that it would actually look like Obama's face, but when it was lit up, we were shocked!

Pardon Liam's face. I can't get this kid to stop talking even for a picture. He's a jabber box lately.

The Skeeter

Liam is getting really good on his scooter and his bike! He finally gets how to make the scooter work. Except now he refers to it as his 'skeeter.' Here he is in action!

Izzy's Halloween Shoot

Little Miss Isabelle came over for a couple of fun photos for her first Halloween today. She is quite the comic. We had a lot of fun and got some cute ones in her ballerina costume. I have some more that I need to edit that look more 'studio' style, but I thought I'd post these because they are so cute.
