Rockstar

I got Liam some tinker toys for Christmas this year. He's been really into building and imagining and playing with different objects lately, so I knew he'd love them.  We got them out the other day and built a microphone and guitar.  You'd think I'd just given him the world!  We've had multiple rock concerts, lullaby concerts, reverent concerts, etc, etc, etc.  He takes it very seriously.  How cute is this little rock star?

Roll Over!

Our little stink-bug decided she wants to be a big girl and rolled over for the first time today!  I'm so not ready for her to be meeting these milestones-- I want her to stay tiny forever. :D However, she's so cute getting so mad to try and roll over.  Good job, Adelyn!  Way to roll!

Baby Einstein?

I wish I could get a photo to capture the true craziness of Adelyn's post-bath hair, but this photo is the best I could get. Each individual strand of hair sticks straight out, creating somewhat of an Einstein effect.  Maybe we have another little brainiac on our hands...

Three Months!

I can't believe it's that time again!  Miss Adelyn turned three months old on Friday.  We have had an eventful couple of days, so here are a few things that are happening with our three-month-old:
-She is ALL smiles now.  As hard as it was for her to give us those first smiles, it's now very easy to get them. She started doing it consistently about 3 or so weeks ago and hasn't stopped. :)
-She loves to play on her floor mat and talk and talk to her toy bugs. She also loves to grab their little feet and shake them wildly!
-She is still an excellent sleeper. In fact, yesterday, she slept from 9pm-7:30am.  Good job, Addy!  However, as good as she sleeps at night, we still haven't gotten ahold of naps yet. She's a serious cat-napper.  Sammy, our baby-sitter, will get her on a nap schedule. ;)  She worked miracles with Liam, so I know she will with Adelyn, too. ;)  At least I'm holding out hope for it.
-She had her first little runny nose and cold this week. :(  Thankfully, it resolved very quickly and she's back to herself!
-The big thing that's been happening this week is that, tmi, I found a little blood in her stool. :(  I took her into the doctor and they think she has a milk sensitivity.  I was REALLY hoping that I wouldn't have to go through any of this with her, but alas, here we go.  :(  So, we've had to use a special formula for three days to give her bowels a rest while I go completely dairy free. The good news is that most babies outgrow this by 4-6 months, so I'm hoping for 4!  It's been VERY challenging not being able to nurse her for the last day and a half all the time, but I've still been nursing her here and there for comfort.  I think I need it as much as she does. ;)  I've been surfing the net for tips on going dairy-free and wandering the aisles of Whole Foods for dairy free products.  If anyone has any tips for me, I'd greatly appreciate it!
-At her doctor appointment, with all of her clothes on, she weighed 13 lbs even.  :)  Way to grow, Addy!  At 2 months, she weighed 11.4 lbs, so she's done a very good job growing in the last month.

I can't believe our baby is three months old already.  Even though it's gone so quickly, we can't remember what life was like without our sweet girl. :)

Melt My Heart

Addy has become a real fan of floor time, which I'm loving.  I can lay her down and actually get a few things done, so it works out nicely.  One morning I layed her down in her room on the floor and she was in there chatting away with herself.  A few minutes later I heard Liam in there, so I went to check on things.  I found him laying right next to her reading her a story.  She was watching intently. It was the sweeted thing. This continued on for quite some time.  I love to watch their little bond grow stronger and stronger.

Aunt Debbie's Memorial

Wes's Aunt Debbie passed away on December 19.  She was only 57 years old.  She died from complications related to an infected hip joint replacement.  Very sad. :(  This past Saturday, they held a memorial in Manteca, CA for her.  We were lucky that the weather cooperated enough for us to attend as well as for Wes's parents to attend.  Liam stayed in Reno for Izzy's third birthday party that he'd been looking forward to for weeks and it was much easier for us as it was just a day trip over the hill.

 Adelyn was a lucky girl. She got to meet her great-grandmother and her grandpa.

While it was a sad occasion, it was wonderful to see family again and for Addy to meet some of her extended family as well.

First Princess Movie

The other day Liam was watching The Princess and the Frog and Addy was playing on her floor mat while I did some dishes.  I went back in to find Addy totally focused on the TV.  I panicked!  haha.  Another TV lover?  I'm sure she was just watching the colors and Wes made a joke that she was simply enjoying her first, in a very long line of I'm sure, princess movies.  So he documented it. ;)

However, I now make sure she's out of TV sight all the time. ;)
