Homework

This summer has been a rough one. I have had homework in amounts that I didn't know possible. I'm so glad this will be the last summer like this for me. Anyway, I've mentioned before that Liam is fascinated with homework, and since all of my homework is on the computer, he thinks that's what the computer is for. He's been begging for months that we let him do homework(I'm documenting this so I can prove it to him when he's 16). We finally broke down and let him do 'homework' on pbskids.org. What an awesome website! They have a ton of fun educational games for kids, so we let him do one 'homework game' a night. He looks like a pro already, doesn't he?

Sher-Shot

Anyone who knows my husband at all, knows what a paintball fanatic he is. Ever since we got married, he's been building up his supply of stuff and playing whenever he gets a chance. About a year ago, he started a team sponsored by Sherwin-Williams, his employer. We finally got an indoor paintball place here in town and he has helped the guy get it all set up and whatnot so he can get free playing time. A few weeks ago he helped put on a paintball tournament sponsored by Sherwin-Williams and the Sherwin-Williams team played. Their team got fourth place, but they were happy with that because they don't get a lot of time to practice together. Wes worked very hard getting the tournament together and got all of the prizes donated. He designed these paint can labels as well, and they turned out really great. Good job, Schatz!

Future Mister-Hairy

Ethan was sooo kind to give his old suit to Liam, which works out perfectly with his new tie. We tried it out for the first time for Allison's baptism. We think our little guy is pretty darn handsome! We just *had* to do this for fun. We used Wes's name tag from his mission. He'd definitely have you fooled if he was a few feet taller. :)

I can see a repeat performance of this picture in about 16 years when he's tired of his mom taking 123783975428394 pictures at the MTC.

Cooling Off

We had a HOT month of July. It had been the 100's every day. We definitely thought it was time to break out Liam's new swimming pool for a big of summer fun. Wes and I got into our suits and joined the fun as well (no pictures of that :p). It was a wonderful afternoon and we enjoyed our time together.

We picked some raspberries from our bushes and let Liam enjoy those as well. What says summer more than swimming and freshly picked raspberries?

I *love* summer. I wish it would last longer, especially this year when we haven't had as much time for fun afternoons like this. However, summer coming quickly to an end, means school coming to an end as well, so I'll take the end of summer for the end of school. ;)

Cook Reunion 2009

The same weekend as Liam's party, Wes's family had their annual Cook Family reunion up near the Lake. It was nice because family that usually lives far away and can't come to his party, was able to be there this year.

Wes's family was all in town and Wes and Liam were able to go up and hang out for a day and then Liam camped there with Grandma and Grandpa for a night. I was really worried about how he'd do, since previous camping attempts(with the exception of the Father and Son) have not gone so well, but he did great. I'm hoping that this is now a trend and that we'll be able to attempt camping again at some point.

Liam especially had a wonderful time hanging out and playing with Wes's cousin, and Liam's second cousin, Belle. They had sooo much fun together and got along great. It was really cute. I love this picture. It really shows how much fun they were having together. Liam is wearing Uncle Beannie's sweatshirt because the weather decided to get rainy and chilly in the middle of July. Here's the whole crew for a group shot.

Siblings.

This is Belle's sweet baby sister, Grace. Isn't she the cutest? And she was such a good baby: happy and content to hang out anywhere. I could have taken her home with me, that's for sure.

Liam also had fun playing with and hanging out with whomever he could. He continually called Wes's cousin, Kelsey, "The Lady" and liked playing Uno with her. :)

We had a really nice time. Hopefully we'll be able to hang out more for next year's reunion since I'll FINALLY be out of SCHOOL. Hooray!
