2 months!

Miss Addy is 2 months old today!  Her second month of life has been a busy one, that's for sure.  We had Thanksgiving, Peyton's Birthday, Mommy's Birthday, visits with Santa, her baby blessing, Christmas shopping, etc, etc, etc, (some of things have yet to be blogged, but will be shortly). 

Here's a little about Addy at 2 months old:

-Addy is a good sleeper!! Hip-Hip-Hooray!  She has been consistently sleeping through the night for a few weeks now.  She is a little difficult to get to sleep, but is usually sleeping soundly by 9pm and will sleep until 5-5:30.  Then she'll go back to sleep until usually 8am, give or take a little bit.  This is WONDERFUL.  We're still getting the hang of naps, but we have hit and miss days, so I know we'll get a routine down soon.

-She had her first day at Sammy's. I'll be going to work sometime in January at St. Mary's as an oncology nurse, which means I have to take a chemotherapy/biotherapy certification class.  This is every Wednesday for about 4 hours, so she had her first visit with Sammy at 7 weeks old.  She did great and loved Sammy, of course. We're so happy to have such an awesome person to care for our children who loves them so much!

-She is such a sweetheart and loves, loves to be held and snuggle. Liam wasn't much of a snuggler (still isn't, he'd much rather be running crazy), so it's nice to get some snuggles. 

-She can be a pretty serious little girl. We've gotten a few smiles here and there, but nothing super consistent yet.  I'm hoping soon, because when she does flash us that gorgeous smile, it's amazing!

-She's getting much better at tummy time and raising her head.  She loves to play on her little floor mat and swat at the little toy bugs.  She also finally loves the swing, which I'm so happy about.  She REALLY loves to look at mirrors and coo at herself. So sweet.

We take her to get her 2 month check-up and shots on January 3, so I'll update with her stats then. I'm anxious to see how much she weighs because she is becoming quite the roli-poli which I love (see serious double chin in above photo. hehe).  She is SUCH a joy and is a magnet for anyone who is around her. People are drawn to her sweet little face and spirit. We sure do love this little gal.

More Santa

The kids were able to visit with Santa again at Wes's company kids' Christmas party.  Liam had a great time. Santa brought Liam a little Tonka truck and Addy a little book.  Liam also made a bird feeder and a sock snowman.  We enjoyed a lovely pancake breakfast as well. It was great fun for a Saturday morning.

Lunchtime Fun

I've been trying to get creative and find some fun activities for Liam because we've been homebodies lately(which I love), well especially since Addy has been born.  However, Liam has been used to being on the go, so we have to find an outlet for his energy.  A few times a week, or when the weather cooperates, we eat lunch outside in his little swingset. He thinks this is the best treat ever.  It's a fun little ritual for us now.  I really enjoy sweet moments with just us eating lunch together outside.  He's such a sweet boy and definitely finds joy in the fun small things we do together. He definitely makes life fun!

You have no idea how complicated it was to get this photo.  Poor Addy and Peyton.  It is, however, very cute, and illustrates our children perfectly.

Fun at Nana and Papa's House

These are just some random, fun photos from our weekend at Nana and Papa's house.  The kids had a blast this weekend.  Our part of the weekend was cut a little short due to Liam getting sick, but we still had a great time.  Thanks for the fun, Nana and Papa!

Peyton loves Addy so much. It's so cute and funny. He'll go after her any chance he gets. He crawled up next to her on her play mat and was trying to give her kisses.  What a sweet boy!

Adelyn really enjoyed her bath in Nana's sink.  I love the little buddha belly she's developing and her cute rolls. She's well-fed.

All the kids piled in next to Addy. I don't think she quite knows what to think of the craziness.  She just sits in the middle of it and watches it happen. :D

Peyton loved Nana's homegrown and canned beets.  Rightfully so. They were delicious.

Izzy and Liam had to partake in a little holiday mischief.  Liam had gone in and asked Nana if he and Izzy could have one of the candy canes in the candy dish.  It was before dinner so we told them no. A few minutes later, Izzy comes in telling us she needs to wash her sticky hands.  We asked why she had sticky hands and she told us "just from the candy cane me and Liam are eating"  It was very funny in a not-so-funny way.  Here is the evidence of their Christmas mischief:

Addy had to sport her "I Love Cookies" shirt from Nana for our cookie-baking weekend.

The little tub is getting too small for all of these grandkids, so we threw them into Nana's big jacuzzi tub.  They thought it was the best thing ever and they had a lot of room to swim and play.

Nana gave the kids some spray foam soap and that was definitely one of the highlights of the weekend. They had so much fun with that stuff. I don't think they would have ever left the tub had we not made them. They loved pretending to be Santa Claus and Izzy liked pretending her foam was her swimming suit.

I still have one more post of cute family photos from this weekend to post.  As you can tell though, we sure had a lot of fun!

Baking with Nana

This past weekend, we went out to Yerington for a weekend of baking and Christmas fun.  The first thing we made was our traditional sugar cookies.  The kids had a ton of fun cutting cookies with Nana.  Izzy is very good at rolling out the dough.

The kids had a lot of fun. They were very quick with the cookie cutters and we tried to teach them not to cut the cookies right in the middle of the dough. haha.  Maybe they'll understand more next year. ;)

Peyton got in on the fun and cut out his first cookie, too.

I think the favorite part of the process was eating the cookie dough.

I'm not sure how many bites Izzy sneaked in there, but I can't believe they didn't have tummy aches.

We had to introduce Addy to the art.  My mom said, "we're just raising her up right." when we put a little cookie cutter on her arm so she could feel a part of things. ;)

Unfortunately, with four kids four years and under, we didn't get the cookies decorated that weekend, but I'm sure I'll have photos to show for that when we do.

St. Nikolaus Tag

On the night of December 5, Liam chose a shoe for everyone and set them outside our doors in hopes that St. Nick would leave us some treats!  We try to incorporate German traditions here and there in our life, and this is one of our favorites. 

Here are our shoes after St. Nick dropped goodies. Addy got a few bows since she doesn't eat candy yet. ;)
