Tummy Time Troubles

As previously mentioned, Adelyn is not a huge fan of tummy time. Once in a while she'll entertain the idea of liking it for 2-3 minutes. Then she'll hate it and roll on her side for a while and be happy.  This particular evening, she had Wes and me giggling constantly with her tummy time antics.
First, enjoying looking at herself from a sideways view.  She was so cute just talking away to herself.

Then she decided that she was done with the whole thing and would simply give up and surrender.  She just layed stiff as a board like this until we picked her up.  The pictures probably don't do the whole thing justice, but it was really, really funny.

As Liam often says, "Silly Addy!"

FOUR Months!

On Monday, February 21, Addy turned four months old!

I couldn't decide between these two pictures which one would be her 'official four month shot' so I posted both. She was very smiley for her four month photos.

Here are a few tidbits about Miss Adelyn at four months:

-First, she is still an excellent sleeper!  Most nights she'll sleep about 12 hours straight.  Sometimes a little more.  The last few nights I think she's been going through a growth spurt, so she's woken up a few times.  She is also starting to get the hang of napping, some days anyway, which is nice.

-About three-four weeks ago she gave us her first real belly laugh.  First belly laugh ranks right up there with first smile.  She gives her giggles most freely to her daddy. And, without fail, every time she giggles she gets the hiccups!

-She takes a little while to warm up to giving her smiles to anyone besides mom, dad, and brother.  She likes to look around and assess the situation before she relaxes a little bit.

-She started going to Sammy's house when I started work.  She's done fairly well, but Sammy knows she misses being home with mom, especially in the mornings before she settles in. Hopefully the transition will keep getting better and better.

-She's getting stronger and stronger. She hasn't rolled over a lot since she first did it, but she will if she gets mad enough during tummy time.  ;)  She's not a huge fan of tummy time, but her neck is getting much stronger. 

-She loves to watch her brother jump and play and sing.  And her brother is still just as in love with her as the day we brought her home. I just love that!

She's definitely our little ray of sunshine and we are enjoying watching her grow and change every single day.  I just wish she would slow down a little bit.

Love These Moments

Some of my favorite moments are in the early mornings when I bring Adelyn into bed with me and nurse her back to sleep. It's so calm in the house and I just doze with her or stare at her sweet little face.  The other morning she fell back asleep and slept for a good couple of hours more in my bed like this, just sucking away on her little thumb.  She is such a sweetheart. We love this little gal.

Happy Valentine's Day

Despite the fact that BOTH of my children came down with RSV and we had to stay home for a few days with breathing treatments galore, we had a really lovely Valentine's Day. We stayed home and just enjoyed hanging out, playing and making goodies.

I've always loved Valentine's Day. I wanted to make it a little more special for Liam now that he's old enough to get excited about these things.  So, the night before I set out their little Valentine gifts from mom and dad and Nana and Papa with some little hearts.  He was so surprised when he woke up. It was adorable.  Daddy also made us heart pancakes for Breakfast.

Liam got two trains to go with his Misty Island set. He was THRILLED.  You can tell Addy really loves to watch her brother. Who wouldn't, right? It's like watching a live show 24-7.

We then made some marshmallow treat pops for our neighbors and for Liam's friends at Sammy's.

For dinner, Nana had given us some adorable heart raviolis. What a treat!

We hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's Day with the ones you love. We sure did.

Sweetest Valentines Ever!

Here are my sweet little Valentines!  Aren't they the cutest ever?!

This is her super excited look. She gets all stiff and goes wild with her arms and legs. Soo adorable!

I think Liam is very happy that I have another child to torture with the camera. The minute I got a decent shot of the two of them he was off and running. And let me tell you how difficult it was to even get the top shot of the two of them. I should make a post of just the outtakes! Phew! Hard work. Good thing they are so adorable. Addy is giving smiles all the time now. It was impossible to choose just one of her sweet little Valentine smiles to share.

Thumbsucker

I always swore I'd never 'let' my children become thumbsuckers.  Well, whenever a mom makes such a statement, I guess it's the law of the universe that one of her children will prove her wrong.  :)  Addy is a binky baby, but not as much as Liam. And lately, she'll spit that binky right out and go for her thumb.  It's getting worse. Anytime the thumb comes near her mouth, she starts sucking.  I have tried taking it out and going for the binky, because at least when the time comes, you can take the binky away, but no such luck.  Oh well, it's pretty darn cute anyway. At night, the only way she'll sleep well is tightly swaddled. She loves to be swaddled, but now a few mornings, I've gone in to find her having wiggled one arm out and she'll be sucking away on her thumb, or her thumb will be in sucking position for when she wakes up. Silly girl.  Here are a few pictures of our little thumbsucker.

We'll see how long this lasts. :)  Like I said, I think it's pretty adorable, even though it may be a problem in a few years.  Maybe not.  They sure have their own little personalities and preferences, despite what we do, don't they?

Baker Boys

I am always very proud of Wes and his skill in the kitchen. He's a fantastic cook and great baker. Truly. I am, I must say, also a little envious because he does much better than I do! Anyway, Saturday while my mom and I were out at a Scrapbooking class, he attempted his first, completely from scratch, bread that he did in the oven. He and Liam did a fantastic job!  I know Liam had a lot of fun doing it with him as well.  Let me just say, I don't know if I'll be able to go back to store-bought bread now...
