Happy Turkey Day!

We had a lovely Thanksgiving this year at my sister, Heather's, house. It was just our little family, my mom and dad, cousin Larry, Heather's family and Uncle Ben(Wes's Brother.) Thanksgiving morning Wes and Ben went to our ward's annual Turkey Bowl and had a blast playing football. It gets some of that built up high school energy out! We spent the day at Heather's and had a lovely feast including a deep fried turkey, dirty rice, fresh green bean casserole, goat cheese macaroni, pumpkin seed salad, cowboy caviar, pumpkin cheesecake, clam dip, pecan pie--you get the idea! Here is Heather's beautiful table. She always has such a beautiful presentation for holiday meals. Yummy pumpkin cheesecake!

Nana and GG did the annual tradition of giving the kid's ornaments. Izzy mostly liked the paper. The ornaments will have to be shown when they are on the tree because I haven't gotten a photo yet!

The kids had to get a try of some yummy whipped cream straight from the can-- Liam's an old pro. GG saves him some in her fridge.

The night after Thanksgiving I took advantage of all the man power at my house to rearrange the living room for my Christmas tree! It has the lights on it now, but we'll decorate tomorrow for our family home evening activity.
Even though I'm a few days late posting this, I wanted to post some of the things we are thankful for, because that's what Thanksgiving is about.

-First we are thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ and what it means to us in our life. We love the Savior and are so grateful for his atoning sacrifice and for a loving Heavenly Father.

-We are so thankful for a wonderful, supportive family that we have. We wouldn't be the people we are without them. Thank you.

-We are also thankful for Wes's job, a warm home, food to eat and the clothes that we have. With the way the economy is, we are so thankful to have these seemingly small blessings, but really, they are blessings that some many people do not have.

-We are thankful for education and the opportunity both Wes and I have to get a higher education. It's amazing that we'll be able to get to do what we have dreamed of for our lives and that we have a great family to support us in this journey.

-We are so, so thankful for a beautiful, smart, and healthy boy who brings us more joy than we ever thought possible.
