Yerington Centennial

Last Saturday after I got off of work we headed to Y-town for the Lyon County Museum's open house, which was in honor on the Yerington Centennial Celebration. There was also a car show going on the same day, and then we also stayed to celebrate Father's Day. My dad is on the museum board and participated in the blacksmith exhibit. He and David Warr were working right in there making stuff and sweating in the heat with the fire. It was really cool to watch them do it and neat that my dad is a part of the museum. He took Liam immediately to the train exhibit, and anyone that knows my son, knows that is the way to his heart. He spent a LOT of time watching the train set up and naming the trains, etc. :) Then, Mr. Tognoli let him get up into the train and ring the bell. He said he's only ever let 4 people do that before! Liam was in HEAVEN and we had to drag him away...











Here is my mom and Addy in front of what was the oldest Texaco station in NV, otherwise known as Hillygus station.  As a kid, I remember going there and Mrs. Hillygus would fill us up, wash our windows, and then give us a kids a dum-dum.  :)  I'm so glad it's part of the museum now.





My mom was so excited that "Patsy Cline" was going to be down at the car show. Ever since I was a little girl, Patsy Cline music has been mine and my dad's thing.  I know all of her songs and I'm sure I still have the tape around here somewhere.  However, when we got down to the 'show' I was VERY disappointed. It was someone HORRIBLY lip syncing and throwing around objects.  Seriously ghetto and a disgrace to Patsy Cline! I had to take a picture just to show the utter ghettoness of it all.

Addy enjoyed her first ride up on daddy's shoulders and giggled away. So sweet!


 
Aunt Pam and Bill had their car in the show, but sadly we didn't get any photos of it. :(  Even though 'Patsy Cline' was a disappointment, we had a wonderful time and the museum was great! I'm so glad that we went.

8 months!

Our sweet baby girl is 8 months old today!  My, how time flies!  Here are a few things about Miss Adelyn at 8 months old:
-She's sitting up completely on her own.  She has been doing this for a while, but she was wobbly before and now she's very steady.
-She's very close to crawling.  She gets really mad because she can't keep up with her brother!  She rolls like crazy and gets up on her knees and rocks, but she hasn't figured out how to move, which is fine by me! ;)
-Her top two teeth finally have broken.We've had a looong couple of weeks with those teeth trying to come through.  She's just been a little fussier than usual, but now that they are popping through, she's going back to her happy lil self.
-She LOVES to swim. We went swimming last week with Titi, Izzy and Peyton and she had so much fun just splashing away!
-She's been enjoying new baby foods and such.  We're still dealing with some allergy and eczema issues, but hopefully we'll get those figured out soon. 
-Some of her favorite activities include playing with her little piano and gumball machine, as well simply rolling around like crazy all over the floor.
-She's still an excellent sleeper with I'm soooo grateful for.
-We're still exclusively breastfeeding, which also makes me happy.  It's taken a lot of work, especially with me working 12 hour nights, but we're doing it and it's been soooo worth it!  Some people think I'm crazy for pumping 3 times a shift and that it's too much work, but it's definitely worth the work. 
-She's been a mommy's girl since she was born, but she's definitely developing at times into a daddy's girl. He can make her laugh like nobody's business!

Around the House

Wes has had some time off recently so we've been trying to get some stuff done around the house. The #1 thing we've been working on is the yard.  As most of you know, our yard has been a mess since we moved it. It was a foreclosure, so it had been seriously neglected.  A few months ago we were able to get someone to haul away the old hot tub, and we've been working on getting grass growing.  We also have been planting flowers and some different plants for the garden. We also found a little home for my gnome. :)  We've also done some painting and such, but I'm not 100% finished with all of that, but when I am, I'll be sure to post photos.

Apparently all of our work has been rubbing off on Liam. We found him doing this in the yard. :)

Addy has also been enjoying her time in the yard while we worked away. :)

See we do have grass! And we got rid of a few weeds. ;)  And see my little gnome?  I can see him from my kitchen window which makes me happy. :)  Liam's also been enjoying the summer with his little pool in the backyard.

And just another little random shot of Liam reading to Addy. They love eachother so much.  I'm so glad they have each other and love eachother.

Like I said, I've had many projects going on around the house which I hope to finish soon and post photos of!

A Stripe!

Liam has been continuing with karate for the last couple of months and loves it! He's been working really hard memorizing the different movements and names of the movements. He practices at home every day with daddy.  Last week he came home from karate sooo excited to show me that he had tested for his first stripe and gotten it!! I had no idea he was going to test, otherwise I would have gone, but we're so proud of him!  We're really loving karate and how much fun he's having with it as well as how much discipline he's learning.  I've been so proud how he's learned to focus regardless of what the other kids are doing in the class.  I think he's learning some great skills for starting school.


Again, we're so proud of him and excited at his progress. Go, Liam!

Mother's Day

Now that I'm FINALLY finished posting about our rockin' trip, I can catch up on the rest of life that's been happening. First up, Mother's Day!  We had a very nice Mother's Day. We went over to Heather's house before church for brunch, then we went to church, and then Wes made me a delicious dinner!  I got an adorable little garden gnome we named Hans. :)
Here is a photo during brunch. When we were in Disneyland my mom bought us all little tiaras to wear on Mother's Day.  :)  Definitely a tradition to keep up with. ;)

And here are the sweet little ones that made me a mama with me before church. I love them and being a mama more than I can say.

After church we cut some beautiful lilacs to deliver to GG. I couldn't resist these photos of my handsome delivery boy.

Grand Finale!

We had been hearing a lot about Disneyland's World of Color and had been very excited to go.  We got fast passes for the last day so we could go in early and get good seats.  World of Color is a water show in California Adventure with music, fire, colors, projections all in the water show.  We got in about an hour early and ate some churros (can't go to Disney without churros right?!).  It was a gorgeous perfect evening.  The kids were even content just to lay on a blanket on the ground and play my phone. haha.

Here's a photo of all of us before the show. This was the only photo the whole trip we got of all of it. It came out cute though.

Before the show, Nana took Liam to pick out some sort of light up souvenier. She was going to let him choose, but we all knew exactly what he'd pick. He picked a light up sword. It was so cool because they had tons of light up things for the show, like light up Micky ears and such.  Just fun stuff.

Let me say, this show was AMAZING and probably one of our very favorite parts of the entire trip. We pretty much stood their watching with our mouths wide open the entire time.  At one point in the show, Liam goes, "I wish we were closer so we could get splashed." Then a few minutes later, fountains starting going of at random places in the crowd. It was sooo cool!  It's obviously very hard to get photos of, but these were the best we could do.


The photos don't even remotely do it justice! I posted some videos to my facebook as well.  One of the funniest things about the show was Addy.  Let's just say this was a LOUD and bright show. And what do you know, Addy fell asleep strapped to her daddy's chest while watching the show. She didn't even wake up with the fire came on and let me tell you, that was very BRIGHT and HOT!


During the show they flashed so many photos of different movies and the kids had so much fun anticipating which was coming next. My favorite part, of course, was the Little Mermaid scenes, but Fantasia also had some pretty amazing ones. We all agree that if we had gone on a night earlier in our vacation we definitely would have gone to see this again. 
On our way out, Liam decided he wanted to ride in the stroller. Most of you know that this child will not crash until every ounce of energy is used up.  But, crash he did! 

I carried him onto the bus and low and behold there was his friend, Suzie!  She said, "Is that my Liam?!"  And I heard a few other people whisper, "That's Liam from the other night." haha. They couldn't believe he was asleep either. ;)

We had SUCH a wonderful, wonderful time. I'm still having dreams about Disneyland. On our ride home I asked everyone what their favorite parts were. It was pretty hard to answer, but these were the responses:
Me: Meeting Ariel, World of Color and Soaring Over California
Mom: It's a Small World and World of Color
Liam: Big Thunder Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean
Wes: Tower of Terror and Screamin' California. 
Addy: Baby Mum Mums and Minnie Mouse ;)

One last photo.  When we got back to the hotel, Addy was wide awake. On Wes and my little date we went to a candy shop and got the cutest Minnie Mouse candy apple.  I had to take a photo of Addy with it and her Mouse Ears. We enjoyed the apple on our drive home.

Part: I've lost count-- Swimming!

Liam was beyond excited to take advantage of the hotel's swimming pool. I think he was almost as excited about that as he was about Disneyland.  On our last Disneyland day we went back to the hotel for a break to swim.  Well, mommy took a nap, and Daddy and the kids, with Nana's help, swam. I still wasn't feeling 100% and knew we were heading back to the park for a late night, so I missed the fun. Anyway, half the fun of swimming this time was getting Addy in her new swimming suit!  She, however, thinks it's really fun to roll away in the middle of getting changed to pose for some cute nakie pics. ;)  I love this picture. :)
Apparently she was in quite the posing mood. She also liked showing off her new swimming suit!

Liam, as always got 100% out of his swimming experience. He had a blast in the pool and was his little fishy self.
