Addy's First Bath

On November 1, Addy had her first official bath!  Yes, her little cord stump fell off, so she got to take a real bath. I was nervous she would hate it as much as her sponge baths, but she loved it! 

Things really are different with your second child.  I remember with Liam I couldn't wait for the cord to fall off so that he could get his first real bath, but with Adelyn, I was a little sad because I knew this was just one of many milestones to come meaning she's getting a little older (granted, she was only like 11 days old).  Not that I wanted to glue the stump back on or anything :), I think you just cherish the now moments a little more with your second baby because you know just how quickly they go.  However, we did have a lot of fun giving her her first bath.

Liam has been waiting for the day where she could take a bath in this little tub next to him. He was in seventh Heaven. He loves her so much. :)

Again, I guess the flash lightens up her hair considerably for pictures.  She enjoyed sucking on her hand throughout her bath. ;)

And here she is in her post-bath cozyness. I just love babies fresh out of the bath, all snuggly in their jammies.  This also shows off her head full of hair and her cute ruffle-bum. :)  Girl clothes sure are a lot of fun.

These photos just crack me up. Again, crazy hair, but you can see that she really did enjoy her bath.  Love those chubby cheeks.

Crazy Hair

These aren't the best pictures of Miss Addy, but I had to try to get a shot of her post-bath crazy hair.  The minute her hair is dry it all sticks straight out, giving her somewhat of a porcupine 'do.  I love it.  It cracks me up every time.  Her hair looks much lighter in these photos than it really is, even though I'm sure it'll definitely be blonde eventually.

Unfortunately these pics don't really do her style justice, but I'm going to keep trying to get a good one. ;)

Happy Halloween!

We had a busy Halloween evening. We had our traditional stops to make. Our first was at G.G. and Grandpa-Great's house.  We got to see Izzy and Peyton there as well.

We then stopped at our second traditional stop: Brent and Elise's house.  I love this picture of Liam by their scarecrows.  We had yummy cookies and sparkling cider there.  :)

Our next stop is what I think may be turning into a new tradition.  Uncle Shaawn put together a hayride for the kids to ride trick-or-treating through Hidden Valley. It was a huge hit!  The kids had a blast. I can't tell you how many times I heard Liam shout "This is SOOO fun!"  They got tons of candy (good stuff, too.)  Miss Addy even went on the hayride.  She made it without a peep until the last ten minutes.  I was very impressed.  Daddy missed some of the hayride to take Grandma home. :( We miss her already.

Again, we had a blast and have wayyy too much candy.  We came home and crashed, yet again. I wonder when we'll recover from all this partying!

Trunk or Treat

We attended our ward Trunk-or-Treat and Halloween Carnival on Saturday. I was nervous about taking Adelyn, seeing as she is so little and we're getting into the cold and flu season.  However, Wes came up with a good solution to make me our own version of  "Typhoid Mary" so that no one would 'visit' us and share germs, at least for now. :) It worked.  We also had Nana and Papa and Grandma along and had a wonderful time!  Liam had a blast at the carnival games and made out like a bandit from the Trunk-or-Treat.  Here are some photos from the night:

I bought these candy corn bows in Genoa at the Candy Dance praying that she'd be born before Halloween. :) I know she came early just so that she could wear this adorable outfit. :D

Our Family at the Trunk-or-Treat. Wes dressed up as a paintballer, of course. He said it was because he probably wouldn't get to wear his gear for another year since we have two kids now.  We'll see. ;)

Addy and I participated in her first ever cake walk. She won on the very first try.  :) Here we are in our costume as well.  I don't think that most people even knew that there was a baby under there.

Carving Pumpkins

This was the first year we decided to carve pumpkins with Liam. He was a little bit apprehensive about the 'guts' but after he got going he said, "I actually think I like this part!"

 Daddy did all the hard work carving. He carved a silly face for Liam (very appropriate) and a kitty for Adelyn (to match her nifty Halloween hat).  He then carved himself something or other (I'm sure he'll appreciate that line) from the book "Angels and Demons." It looks pretty cool. :)  Good job, Daddy!

Back Track to 38 weeks

I wanted to post these photos a while ago, but things got busy.  I was 38 weeks pregnant in these photos- taken 4 days before Addy was born.  We were trying to let her know that she could come out now since the leaves had changed colors. :)

Our First Week

We've had a busy first week as a family of four.  Addy is a very easy-going baby and usually sleeps about 3 hours at a time.  She's nursing like a champ and is really a joy to have in our home. We love her so much!

 Liam is enjoying having Grandma here to play unlimited amounts of 'Go Fish' and 'Memory Match.'  They have taken many walks to the park together and painted quite a few pictures. :)

Here are some photos from Addy's first week on Earth. :D

Scott and La Resa came home to visit when we came home from the hospital.  Addy loved them.

Adelyn tried out her crib and she loved it.  I think I would like sleeping in her beautiful room and bed, too!

One thing that Addy does not enjoy is a sponge bath.  Look how red she is from screaming.  You'd never know that the heaters were on and it only lasted 3 minutes. haha.  Hopefully she'll like it when she gets to have a real bath.

Liam has also kept busy playing boxing and bowling on the Wii.  I thought he looked pretty cute boxing away here.

We took Addy to her little check up with our pediatrician.  She got dressed up in her Halloween gear and looked pretty darn cute.  Dr. Roesler told us what we already knew: she's perfect. :D  She has lost 4 oz, so she's at 7lbs, which is fantastic.  She was a tad yellow in her face, but it's going away due to sunbathing and lots of nursing, so it's nothing to worry about.

Before Adelyn was born, we bought the book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar."  I don't know how we never had it before, but I wanted it for Adelyn. Liam has been dying to read it but I made him wait for Addy to come. He's read it to every single night since we've been home. It's very sweet. He even shows her all the pictures.

Titi came over to visit and we played dress up.  I love her little angel outfit that Titi bought her.

Liam went and got a hair cut while I was napping one day. He came back like this! 

We went on our first little outing. Where?  To Target of course!  She did fabulously and slept the whole time.

She loves to be bundled up and one night Wes went to bundle her and she was a total surfboard she was sleeping so soundly.  It was hilarious.

We knew she was a little yellow, so we did a little sunbathing. She loved that as well. She's a desert girl. :D

And last but not least, Liam and Grandma attended his pre-school Halloween party today. Who was he for Halloween, you ask?  Thomas, of course!  And a pretty darn cute one at that.
