FHE Fondue

Tonight we had a very yummy Family Home Evening! After our lesson on Alma and Ammmmulek(as Liam says), we had Caramel Apple Fondue (I know you're jealous, Erica!) Wes liked pretending he was making polyjuice potion from Harry Potter and Liam just LOVED licking the caramel from the apples and then belting out a very enthusiastic "MMMMM!" I also made some yummy caramel apple bites and put them in the fridge to cool for later. I think I hear them calling my name now...

Super Boy!

Wes' mom sent Liam some goggles in the mail yesterday. I had NO idea they would be such a hit! He immeditately wanted to take both pair(green and blue) to the baby-sitter's. He and his friend Malia wore them throughout the day there. I think he likes that he can see everything in a differene hue. So, anyway, today he decided he wanted to wear them again. Of course, Wes had to construct a cape for him. It seems to go with the whole theme of the tie-dye star shirt and diaper doesn't it? He is definitely SUPER BOY!

Happy Mother's Day

We had such a wonderful Mother's Day today! I hope everyone had a wonderful one, too!

First we went to church with Nana and Papa. They gave all the moms little geraniums to plant. :) Then Liam made me the most adorable picture in Nursery. I would have posted a picture of it, but I left it at my sister's house. It's a cutout (on foam) of his little hand in green on a flower pot with little foam flowers at the end of each finger and says something about how moms nuture their children like flowers to grow up beautifully. It's my favorite gift!

I also got the first book in the "Twilight" series. I'm so excited to do some enjoyable reading--not just textbooks. I'm going to get lots of fun reading in over the summer before the nursing school craziness hits! I also got a beautiful bouquet in a vase of my favorite gerbera daisies. They are beautiful. :) I'm such a lucky mommy-- not just because of my lovely gifts, but because I have the most wonderful son and husband EVER!

We went to Heather and Shaawn's house for an afternoon bbq. It was so nice to relax and play games. Heather and Shaawn got me an adorable framed photo of Izzy and my mom got me a vegetable strainer and stethoscope(well I get to pick one out-- I'm thinking pink!) :) Here are some photos from our afternoon of fun! Happy Birthday, GG!

GG's birthday was actually on Tuesday, but between the double ear infection, finals, roseola and whatnot, we just made it over to her house today with a cake that I made for her. Liam enjoyed the candles, but really, really enjoyed each 'taste' he got of the yummy cake, ice cream, frosting and berries. :) I wonder where he learned this from?? He swiped a fingerfull while GG blew out the candles.
Here he is wearing GG's clogs. Isn't this a funny picture? I love it. I used to love walking around in these at Gram's house when I visited.

Green day will have to be tomorrow-- Liam just hasn't been feeling up to having fun. Hopefully he'll be back to himself tomorrow. The last photo of him sleeping on the couch was the best he felt until we got him to the doctor on Monday. He seems to be happier now as he's in his bedroom singing "Hola, Hola, Hello, Hello" from Dora. :)

Sleeping Babe

Liam had a VERY rough day. I *think* it's this darn tooth that's trying to come in, but I'm not sure. We went over to visit Izzy this afternoon and when we got home he seriously cried for over an hour non-stop. :( Finally, after I had tried everything, he went over and picked up a pillow off of the floor, put it up on the couch, got on the couch and pulled the blanket up over him and fell asleep. My child NEVER does anything like this. This is the first time in his entire life that he's ever slept on the couch. I don't even know where he got the idea to sleep on the couch. haha. At any rate, it was quite possibly the sweetest thing I have ever seen. I was so glad he could calm down and get a little rest. Unfortunately, I had to wake him up for dinner and we went through the same horrible fiasco as before the nap until he went to bed. Please pray we have a better day tomorrow. :) For now, I'm just enjoying his sweet little sleeping face.

Orange Day!

Today was ORANGE day! Liam woke up a bit cranky and was a bit sad throughout the day because his tooth is coming in and bothering him, but I think ORANGE day cheered him up a bit.

We made ORANGE bean bags (well, rice bags) with some left over fleece I had. He really liked pouring the rice into the bags. :) You can see his completed ORANGE sign. He's very good at the letters. Right after this photo was snapped he spilled the rice everywhere. At least it was fun... With dinner I made him ORANGE milk. He loved 'drinking' his milk with a spoon. haha.

And I was making cupcakes for our May Day playgroup tomorrow and I made him a special ORANGE one. YUM! ORANGE bath directly following the ORANGE cupcake! Do you love the classic chocolate cupcake in the teeth? I didn't think we needed to brush them tonight... ;) This photo cracks me up.
And before bed in his ORANGE jammies tossing his new bean bag into a diaper box. That was a fun game that kept him occupied for quite a while.
